Jean-Vital Jammes (known by the stage name Ismaël), was a French baritone (1827-1883) who starred in the world premiere productions of at least thirteen operas including Bizet's Les Pecheurs de Perles and Gounod's Mireille, as well as the revised French language version of Verdi's Macbeth at the Théâtre-Lyrique Impérial du Châtelet) in Paris in 1865. 

Unsigned promotional article written in 1875 with an attractive etching of the artist in role on the front page, and containing a biography of him on all 4 pages, written in French and sold untranslated. Size of each page is 6.75 x 10.5 inches, small creases and bends, otherwise in very good condition.Ā
