Famous English soprano (1888-1976).
Lot of 3 autograph notes signed, sent to Saturday Review magazine editor Roland Gelatt, who had asked her to review Sergius Kagan's book "On Studying Singing" for his publication. The 3 autographed notes include one 4 page text on 2 folded pages, 5.5 x 6.75 inches, written in San Francisco, one 1 page note written in London, dated in 1950, sized at 5.25 x 7 inches, and another 1-page note, also dated in 1950, written on the "R.M.S. Queen Mary" ship stationary, 5.25 x 6.75 inches, all in excellent condition.
ALSO INCLUDED is Teyte's 3-page typed review of the book, 8.25 x 10.75 inches, with some creases on the carbon paper not affecting the text and 4 typed 1-page notes, dated in July-August 1950, sent to Teyte, (unsigned but presumably from Roland Gelatt) asking her to write the review and following up with publication details. Each of these notes is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, with slight creases on corners but in generally very good condition.
