
Saint-Huberty, Antoinette Cecile - Autograph Letter Signed 1785
Celebrated French soprano (1756-1813), whose real name was Anne-Antoinette-Cécile Clavel, and who was best known by her stage name Madame Saint-Huberty or Saint-Huberti. After her retirement from the stage and her second marriage, she and her husband were murdered in England by a servant. She appeared in the world premiere productions of Gluck's Armide in 1777 and Salieri's Les Danaides in 1784, as well as in a great many other lesser-known operas.
Very rare autograph letter signed, 1 page (of 4 folded pages), written in French, sold untranslated, dated in 1785. Bold handwriting and signature. Size is 6.5 x 8.5 inches, small rust and stains, but otherwise in very good condition. Very rare and valuable historic item!
