German-Czech bass (1878-1944), of Jewish ancestry, died in a Nazi concentration camp in Lodz, Poland.

Fine black-and-white photograph mounted on cardboard signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment in German, here shown as Beckmesser in Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Size is 3.25 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.
