On verso, ink markings by another hand, "this autograph of Ole Bull was obtained in Bergen, Norway, August 10th, 1868 by professor J.J. Watson while on a visit to the great artist. Presented to Doc. L.B. Larkin by his friend J.J. Watson, Sept. 28th, 1868". Watson was an American violinist, composer and teacher who visited Bull twice in Bergen, while Larkin was a physician and spiritualist.
