Mount Rushmore - Original Prints 1929-1934
Amazing collection of 21 original photos by Charles D´Emery, 1929-1934, of Mt Rushmore National Memorial. Started to be built in October 1927, this memorial is a massive sculpture carved into Mt Rushmore in the Black Hills region of South Dakota, United States. Created under the direction of Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln, the sculpture holds roughly 60-ft-high granite faces of presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Monument is one of the country´s landmarks and is visited by over 3 million people per year.
This collection of 21 photos, each one sized 9.5 x 7 inches, are in "key-book" format linen-backed with punch holes on an added strip to place them in a reference book used for continuity in this project. Some of the photos have a warning to credit Publisher´s photo service, New York, a few have notes, such as one mentioning the need to reduce the size of Jefferson´s nose. In very good condition. Not sold individually.
