Autograph letter signed, one page, in French, dated in Paris in 1876. Pasteur writes to a colleague about a position as assistant professor, "I tried hard to find you a post among the assistants of the School, as you wanted, but at present the position pays too little and offers little of a future". Size is 5.25 x 8.1 inches, minor folds, in excellent condition.

ALSO INCLUDED with this autograph letter signed is an original cabinet-style photograph of Pasteur by photographer Nadar, Paris, 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some spots on the image, in good condition.
