

Loos, Anita - Signed Book "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"
American screenwriter (1889-1981), playwright and author, mostly known for her successful novel "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". Loos wrote many of the Douglas Fairbanks silent films.
This book was later adapted twice for film, once for a silent 1928 film, then in 1953 for the famous movie with Marilyn Monroe.
Signed book, published by Brentano´s, Ltd., London, one of a limited edition of 1000 books, each signed by the author, 1926. Book is signed twice, once on the dedication page, with a small drawing, and inscribed probably to her husband, film director John Emerson (1874-1956), and once on the opposite page (see scans). Hardcovers, gilded edges, with illustrations by Ralph Barton, 217 numbered pages. Size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches, some water damage at the bottom with some pages at the end glued at the bottom, in good condition.
