French soprano (1869-1941), and also actress and author. Larger size photo signed by her, shown as "Arianne" during the world premiere of the Play "Arianne et Barbe-Bleue" by Maurice Maeterlinck (1899), later adapted to opera by Dukas. Photo is mounted on a mat with her large signature at the bottom and inscribed at the top to Jules Danbé (conductor of the Opera-Comique).Â
Photo is blind-stamped on the front by photographer Dupont, Brussels. Total size is 10.8 x 13.75 inches, actual photo is 6.6 x 8.25 inches (visible window size), large crease from left to right at the center, small creases on corners, otherwise in very good condition.
