American composer (b.1938) and winner of important awards including an Oscar for his work on movie soundtracks. 

Autograph music quote signed by him in 1933, with two bars from the aria "Once there was a golden bird" from his opera "The Ghosts of Versailles".  Size is 9.5 x 12.25 inches, in excellent condition.
