Yesterday I went to our meeting of Bretons on leaving you, and as the elders arrived in the room destined for you, I was talking about you, I had prepared the ways quite well, several had promised me to confer with the president (...) but what we did not foresee was an invitation made by our commissioners to Mr. de la Fayette..."
