Austrian-American operatic stage director (1903-1973), active with the Metropolitan Opera from 1936 to 1960, as well as throughout Europe, particularly Switzerland in his final years. Signed photograph, shown as himself inscribed in New York, dated in 1943. Stamped on verso by Feldshark Studios, New York. Size is 7.5 x 9.75 inches, some bending but in generally very good condition.
