Italian tenor (1866-1903), active in the last decade of the nineteenth century, best known for creating the role of Chevalier des Grieux in the original 1893 world premiere production of Puccini's Manon Lescaut. Signed photo, shown as himself, inscribed and dated in 1898. Bold handwriting and signature. 3.75 x 5.25 inch photo mounted onto hard cardboard, total item size is 4.75 x 6.25 inches, vintage historic photo in excellent condition.
