Ghandi, Mahatma (Mohandas) - Handwritten Postcard

Indian activist (1869-1948) who played a fundamental role in the 1947 independence of India. The honorific title of Mahatma ("Venerable") is now worldwide used with his last name. 

Handwritten postcard, Gandhi pens the address of an acquaintance receiving this postcard, probably a friend. On verso, now blank, there are still very faint traces of ink writing, unfortunately, the text has been faded by the sun - Front is still in good condition and bears his handwriting. Overall toning and water smudge. Gandhi autograph material is very scarce and highly collectible. 

ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned photo of him on a boat, a modern print. Autograph postcard is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, postmarked in Tenali, India, in 1934. Photo is 4.5 x 6.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Due to its rarity and desirability, Mahatma Gandhi is also one of the coolest signatures or handwritten items in the world of collecting famous autographs.
