Canadian-American mezzo-soprano (1885-1958), and voice teacher. Gauthier was a friend of Ravel and premiered in America some of his works, as well as works by Satie and Stravinsky.
Signed photo, shown next to Maurice Ravel, inscribed at the top. Photo has a printed (part of the photo) signature of Ravel, and is also printed an inscription by Gauthier that says next to RavelÂŽs signature "& Eva Gauther "Puppy", Le BelvĂ©dĂšre in Montfort-lâAmaury 1931". That is RavelÂŽs house (today, it hosts the Ravel Foundation and museum). Size is 4 x 6.5 inches, jagged edges, in excellent condition.
