French composer (1775-1834) mainly of operas, often called "the French Mozart". 

Autograph letter in French (sold with an English translation) signed by the composer, addressed to Mr. Sevrin, director of performances at the French Ministry of War.  Size is 4.6 x 7.2 inches, 1 page, in very good condition.

A second page is used as envelope.
