Very rare signed first day cover for a stamp issued in Iceland, during the famous World Chess Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland, 1972. This tournament was a mass media event in the world, during the cold war, with Fischer winning over Russian chess master Spassky and becoming the world champion.
The envelope reads "Spassky Fischer, Reykjavik 1972" and has ink stamps with the date July 2nd, 1972, at the beginning of the famous championship. Bold, very clear signature with a ballpoint pen with black ink by Bobby Fischer, size is 6.5 x 3.7 inches, in excellent condition.
