Italian tenor (1865-1957), best known for creating the role of Rodolfo in the world premiere of Puccini´s opera "La Boheme" in 1896.
Signed photo postcard, showing him in La Boheme, next to Cesira Ferrani (the first Mimi), in a postcard series issued later. Gorga signed above some printed music notes, and inscribed this to a friend. Hand-written and signed on verso by the friend (Renato Blasio): (from Italian) "Tenor Evan Gorga autographed in his home in Rome, on Jan 23rd, 1952" and signs below.
Size is 5.4 x 3.5 inches, scratches on front not affecting the signature nor the singers, otherwise in very good condition.
