ELSNER, Maria

German mezzo-soprano of Jewish origin (1905-1983), later obtained Hungarian citizenship after being forced out of Germany following the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Signed publicity photograph, shown as herself or in role, inscribed with sentiment, dated in Berlin in 1932. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, small ink stains on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.
