French conductor and violinist (1838-1910), a great champion of Hector Berlioz' music and contemporary composers. 

Set of 2 autograph letters (untranslated) signed by the French conductor, as follows: 

A. Dated March 30, 1878, with the letterhead of the Association Artistique, to the “Président”, regretting not being able to attend a meeting. Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 1 pages, overall rust stains, missing upper-left corner, in very good condition.


B. Dated in Paris, November 17, 1886, with the letterhead of the Association Artistique, reminding a friend about one of his upcoming performances. Size is 4 x 5.2 inches, 1 page, overall age-toning, in very good condition.

ALSO INCLUDED are two personal cards with a few autographed lines (one signed “Ed. C.”) of the violinist, mounted on cardboard; and also two printed portraits of him.
