Fantastic imperial-sized cabinet photograph of the composer by Benque & Co, Paris, signed by Saint-Saëns on its verso and inscribed to the French baritone Jean Lasalle probably on the occasion of the world premiere of the composer's opera "Ascanio" on March 21st, 1890, where Lasalle created the role of Benvenuto Cellini.
Size is 5.25 x 8.6 inches, spotted rust stains, in overall very good condition.
