American explorer (1888-1957) and naval officer who was the first to reach both North and South Poles by air, and discovered Mount Sidley in Antarctica. 

Beautiful half-tone photograph matted with a small printed clip about him.  Total size is 8 x 9.9 inches, photograph is 3.5 x 4.4 inches, in very good condition.
