Famous German bass-baritone (1835-1900), creator of the role of Hans Sachs in the World Premiere of Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg in 1868 and also the first Wotan in the first complete cycle of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen performed in 1876.
