Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, March 11, 1882, where he addresses a gentleman, thanking him for having sent him his “chanson patriotique”:

“…deux poëtes et un musicien seront ainsi pour composer cette oeuvre remarquable. Je félicite la trinité de consacrer ses efforts à répondre dans le peuple des sentiments élevés. Il n’y a pas de plus beau rôle…”.
