French violinist (1841-1906) and composer.

Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated April 21, 1867, to a gentleman, concerning a possible collaboration after his publication for the recent Exposition Universelle:

“…En feuillettant votre publication illustrée « l’exposition universelle », l’idée me vient de vous écrire et de vous faire mes offres de services, dans le cas où vous auriez besoin de comptes-rendus touchant la musique à l’exposition. C’est surtout au moment de grands Festivals et des concerts historiques qu’il appartiendra à votre intéressante publication de ne pas délaisser un art vraiment universel…”. Size is 5.4 x 8.4 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), creases, folds, embossed letterhead, in very good condition.

ALSO INCLUDED are two autograph letters signed by Charles Triveillot, secretary to the magazine “La Causerie Dramatique Musicale” and by journalist at “La Gazette Musicale” Mathieu de Monthey.
