Einstein, Albert - Signed Photo 1931

German-born theoretical physicist (1879-1955), creator of the Theory of Relativity, one of the pillars of modern physics, and other achievements, and 1921 Nobel Prize winner. 

Half-tone photo signed with ink by him - handwritten Albert Einstein signature is below, on the mat, dated by him in 1931, before his permanent departure from Germany and moving to the United States. Mat size is 7 x 9.5 inches, the actual photograph is 4.8 x 6.1 inches, probably taken from a book (an Underwood & Underwood photograph). Mounting traces on verso, both mat and photo are in excellent condition.

ALSO INCLUDED is a vintage photograph of Einstein, on photo paper, 8 x 10 inches, stamped on verso "Permission to publish if credit is given to AIP Niels Bohr Library", also in excellent condition.
